SHINER: The Nirvana Play
Never before have I taken on such a role where I would be covered in blood, learn both stage combat and intimacy, and portray a complete 180º character transformation, all in the span of 90 minutes. Jake was going to be my world for the next couple of months and I couldn’t wait to get started.
International Songwriting Week
The songwriting and production students from PopAkademie in Germany and Columbia College Chicago joined forces for a intensive songwriting challenge where we were sorted into teams and put in a room to write for 12 hours a day. I had the great fortune to be writing with Nashville native Francis King and a fantastic German producer Dennis Borger. The creative output felt like an exhausting yet wonderful dream sequence.
The New Band: Sleep for Dinner
I’m living out my electronica dreams as lead synth player, co-vocalist, and co-songwriter in Sleep for Dinner; your new favorite Chicago electronic/alt band. Already the band had the amazing opportunity to record and perform with Ivan Neville of Dumpstaphunk. (You can hear him play on our upcoming release!) We just wrapped up our first show and are looking forward to playing gigs in the city after the holidays.
